Trip Report #2

As if the first show was not enough...................a second show still to come. As they rearranged the audience just a bit, they moved me up to the second row (yes, I know......bummer, huh! 2nd row!) and moved Kristin, David and Scott down to the 2nd row. They had been on the 3rd row still!

So, the 2nd show was a follow up to the Fave Things show that was taped in Macon. The producers let us know that we were NOT going to be overloaded with prizes, but we needed to be happy for those that were!!! ha, ha! so funny!

Anways, this WAS an interesting show, and very fun to be seeing the behind-the-scenes first hand! Then, Paula Deen made her way to the stage to cook the most delicious cheese ball that I have ever had! It was just in time for Christmas! The entire cheese ball is red and green! How fun is that!

Yes, we got to taste it! Yummy!

Then, bring out the cupcakes. I had been just dying for these, and then, viola! Oprah just springs them on us! Oh my! Those things were the best ever!
Then, the surprise! That Oprah! Just can't get enough of her! My heart was about to just explode. Kristin and I did a major "sandwich hug" on Scott!
So, then, Josh Groban sings Little Drummer Boy as an "after the show" deal for the people in Macon!
Ending the show with all of the Oprah staff for the Macon show, and a round or two of Jingle
Bells. Seriously, did I just sing Jingle Bells with Oprah? Really?
Ok, that's about it! Out the door, and take a few pics by the Harpo sign. Taxi to the hotel, and the day is done.
This was by far one of the best days of my life. Crazy huh, but true! And, Scott got to experience it too. Last time, Kristin and I were just spilling over, and I know that Scott and David did not have a clue. But, now they do!
Ugh! How fun! Love that!
God knows the desires of my heart.
More to come........................

Pizza, Harpo Studios and more!

Trip Report #1

Ok, where to begin???

Yes, we flew! Praise God. He is so good. Prices dropped, Grandmary hooked us up with a credit on American Airlines........and we flew.

Left out Monday evening, drove to Atlanta, and flew to Chicago. Flight delayed just a bit, but all is well. Landed safely in Chi-town approx. 9pm, taxi'd to the hotel, and walked over to Giordano's for famous Chicago Deep Dish Pizza. Absolutely delish.--

Got in bed around midnight, and up by 6am.

I hardly slept........I was so anxious! I even dreamed about getting up early! Crazy!! I know!

Ok, got up, coffee, bagel (nope, I could not even eat a whole slice of the bagel, I was so nervous!)
Left for the studio around 9am. Arrived just before 9:30.

Yep, you got it! First in line! No doubt!

Waited, and waited outside the door, 30 degree weather! Covered walkway! The best day ever! Who cares about the cold, who cares about the elements. Who cares? Not me! I am about to see Oprah!!!!

Ok, tons of fun, doors open, in we go, security, check points, id, etc!

Ok, on to the holding room! Baci Box for lunch. Nope, all I could eat was the turkey from half of the sandwich. By this time, I had the "nervous pee". I was totally feeling like I was going to have my heart beat out of my chest. The clock was ticking, and we were anxiously awaiting!

It is so intense, just thinking.........in just a few minutes, I will be inside the studios with OPRAH! No joking! Just typing it makes me excited again!

Ok.............the time has come. They begin calling the names.........and I hear them call my name! I scream. Yes, outloud!

We head down the stairs and make our way to the doors of the studio.

We are eagerly taken to the 3rd row. Only behind the children of Vince Gill and Amy Grant!

Ok, moments pass, and I am so so excited at this point. I am in my chair. Sitting, lights on, stage being set. Ready to go.

Yet, I get moved to the FRONT ROW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, FRONT ROW!

I watch the entire taping of the first show from the front row.

Rascal Flatts, Vince Gill & Amy Grant, and Kenny Rogers***and special guest(I won't give it away!)

No kidding! I cried, I sang outloud, I smiled the entire time, I cheered. I loved it.

It was truly an out of body experience.

It is so hard to explain. It is just something I hope about and dream about, and I all of a sudden, I am there, on the set, watching it in real life. But, I caught myself thinking and feeling like I was watching it on TV. So, so "surreal".

More to come.....................................

Did I forget to mention??

Oh.............................did I forget to mention that I sat on the VERY FRONT ROW?????????????

RIGHT NEXT TO KENNY ROGER'S WIFE????????????

Did I mention that I acted a fool when we got a "surprise"???????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, yeah........................and..............................

DUH?????????? Who cares about all of the other stuff??

I went to see OPRAH???????!!!!!!!!!???????????

Supreme Happiness!!!

Ok, enough for now. I am slap exhausted! I must close my eyes. (all 4 of them!)

Yes, we did it!

Ok, posting the joy now.

Rascal Flatts, Kenny Rogers, and Vince Gill with Amy Grant.

Special Surprise visit from Jamie Foxx!

No joking.

Then, a follow up show featuring the lovely Paula Dean!

May I just say this is one of the BEST days of my life!

Scott said "I did like Oprah before, but now I am an Oprah Fan!"

Wow, that's huge. Seriously, oh, did I mention that we got to eat Williams-Sonoma cupcakes. Are those things lovely or what??

I AM GOING TO THE OPRAH SHOW!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, someone slap me (ok, no don't!).....................screaming, yelling, thanking the Lord, jumping, high five-ing, giggling, and finally, breathing!

Yes, that was the scene Tuesday night when I got the call!!! Yes, ma'am! Not just 2 tickets, but she said 4...........yes, bring the husbands she said, and come on!!!

Rascal Flatts in the house....................and us too!!!

Can you believe it? I almost think I owe it to Becky Higgins! Yes, I made that top 10 list of things to do, and by golly, I have already done 2 of them!

Who'da thunk it?? Seriously, trying since college, just hoping, praying, to get a chance to meet Ms. O. Not only have I been once, but now twice.

Dear Lord, thank you for loving me so much! (now, could you please get Southwest to lower their fares so we can fly and not have to drive!)

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee-Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

When did this happen?

So, all of a sudden.......................it's happening.............AGE!

Oh, no! Am I falling apart??

I have found atleast 3 gray hairs in the last 4 or 5 weeks! Count them......3!

So, the dreaded highlights. YUCK! I hated them. So, I got him to "cover them with a gloss". UGH! The horrors of having to do this forever. I hate it.

Then, just about when I am getting over the trauma, I realize that my headaches and slight (yes, I said slight!) loss of vision could be because my ever-so-sharp vision is not quite so.

Off to the eye dr. and sure enough...............glasses!

Wow! No kidding!

I am falling apart. Just go ahead and give me a walking stick and a denture cup for my bedside table (well, I don't have a bedside table, but you get it!)

Oh my!

Steven Curtis Chapman ::

Cinderella

Well, I don't have any baby girls, here, but man if I did, I would buy one of these CD's..........and put it in a safe place, for years to come.

I can't get enough of this song. I love SCC so much, but this song just ministers to my heart.

Facing the Giants

Ok, call me behind the times, call me whatever, but the boys won't be home Friday night, so we had "Friday Family Fun Night" last night and we cuddled up and watched Facing The Giants.

How did such a spiritual movie even MAKE it to the big screen these days? I don't know but it was a great message. Not so good on the acting.
However, maybe that is what I needed for today.

Just a reminder that I will praise Him in victory, and I will praise Him in defeat. I will praise Him when it is all good, and I will praise Him when it's not quite going my way.

So, now, I will prepare for rain.................knowing full well that He will send it.

Meanwhile, we will eat pb&j. again. Praise the Lord!

Happy Anniversary, Baby!

Oh my goodness! 10 years later! And I just love him so much!! Ok, not too much sap in this post, but here we are LIVE from Hilton Head loving this Disney Resort.

I am such a "sucka" for all things Disney, and this place is no different. UGH! Even the Mickey shaped fire pit. Gotta love it.

So, today we were getting lunch and the lady said, are y'all newleyweds?? Scott said, No, but today is our 10 year anniversary. And she just smiled, and said, "you still have that look in your eyes".

Love it! Love him.
